 FF2 Identity/ Rebrand

FourFourTwo (FF2) is a worldwide magazine and online publication based in London, UK. To highlight the various teams, clubs, and styles of play, the idenity system is flexible and reimagined with feeling of play and energy. The new identity focuses on the field as a whole and what happens inside of it, making a framework. Inside the pitch and the start of every game starts with a ball at kickoff.  This logo combines place, player, and action. Why shouldn’t the game not reflect that more?

Here we see the different movement of patterns all dissected and inspired from team jerseys. We see how the game changes but stays the same. This gives the brand an opportunity to bring in new excitement for many years while still living in this flexible system.

When designing a modular typeface, inspiration came from players on the pitch. Team A vs Team B. There always needs to be a strong difference in appearance to resemble both teams but also show unison.

Display Font name: 1 V 1

These series of posters tell a legacy or highlight a future legend in the game using the 1 V 1 font.

I wanted to focus on taglines for this series with something many people dont attempt too often in sports, the fun. As much as we all would like to be the best, some of us just want to read about the game, laugh about moments and just sit on the toilet and read about what’s happening online.

This poster series was a 3 day event called “Once & Always” for the media platform where every poster has a part of the logo, all forming a connection.

What I wanted to accomplish for the wayfinding system and spatial areas was to maintain the visual langauge but also use different shapes to bring energy to certain areas more than others. Examples would be: Sparks on walls (hinting playing futsal indoor play), Arrows on steps giving more of an emphasis to move a certain way, etc.

Clothing and style plays a big part in the game. The way players express themselves on and off the pitch, you want to live that lifestyle and make a statement.

The language was inspired by jersey kits and clubs. Here, those shapes were inputted into processing to create more patterns which were the re-inputted into a kit once again. I can see a wide variety of tops being created based off of this using direct sublimation.
